About the service and these terms

QRCodeBarn is run by The AI Barn, a small London studio building free web tools since 2021. We provide browser-based tools for generating static QR codes and general information about using them. By accessing or using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site or its tools. The Privacy Policy explains how site information is handled, and the Cookie Policy explains consent and browser storage.

Use of the free tool

The QR generator is provided free of charge and does not require an account. It makes static codes in your browser. We do not provide dynamic redirects, a managed library of codes or scan tracking. Static codes do not expire by themselves, but the web address or service represented by a code can change or stop working. You are responsible for keeping a copy of the information you encode and the files you download.

We may change, suspend or discontinue a feature, or make maintenance updates to the site. We do not promise that every tool or page will always be available, compatible with every device or browser, or free from interruption. A service change does not give us access to user entries that the browser has not sent to our server.

Your content and your responsibilities

You are responsible for the content you enter into a QR code and for having the rights and permissions needed to use it. Do not encode information that you are not authorised to share. This is particularly important for WiFi passwords, personal contact details, private business links and confidential information. A QR code can be copied, photographed and read by other people once it is distributed.

Check the encoded destination and test the finished code before printing, publishing or placing it in front of users. Confirm that the destination is correct, accessible on a mobile device and appropriate for the audience. A logo, colour change, resize or print process can affect scanning. We cannot test every output in every environment, and we do not store your design or recover a code that you did not save.

Acceptable and prohibited use

You must use QRCodeBarn lawfully and responsibly. Do not use the tool or website to create, distribute or promote a code that is intended to facilitate phishing, malware, fraud, harassment, unlawful access or another harmful or unlawful activity. Do not mislead people about where a code leads, impersonate another person or organisation, or use a code to collect information without appropriate authority and notice.

Do not interfere with the site's security or operation, attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious code, overload the service, or misuse any third-party service reached through the site. We may restrict access or take reasonable steps to protect the site and others if we reasonably believe these terms have been breached. Nothing in this section prevents lawful use of a QR code for legitimate communication.

Intellectual property

The website's text, branding, graphics and software are owned by or licensed to the relevant rights holders and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may use the generator to create and download a QR code for your own lawful purposes. You retain responsibility for rights in the content you encode and any logo you upload. Uploading a logo for local preview does not transfer ownership of that logo to us.

Do not copy or redistribute site content or branding in a way that suggests endorsement, ownership or affiliation without permission. You may link to public pages, provided that the link is fair and does not misrepresent QRCodeBarn or The AI Barn. Third-party names, libraries and services remain the property of their respective owners.

Information and no warranty

We aim to make our tools and guidance useful, but provide the site on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure in every circumstance, or suitable for a particular purpose. General guidance is not legal, technical, security or professional advice tailored to your situation. You should independently verify important decisions and test any code before relying on it.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits a right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights you may have as a consumer under UK law. If a statutory guarantee or term applies, these terms operate subject to it.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of business opportunity, or loss resulting from a third-party destination, network, device, printer or service outside our control. We are not responsible for a code that you encode incorrectly, fail to test or distribute without appropriate permission.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be limited. Where liability can be limited, it is limited only to the extent allowed under applicable law. This wording is intended as a fair summary of the service's limits and is not legal advice.

External links and third-party services

The site may link to external websites or use third-party services such as hosting, analytics, advertising and content delivery. We do not control external content, availability or privacy practices. Following an external link is your decision, and the relevant provider's terms may apply. For questions about how the website uses those services, consult the Privacy Policy.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms to reflect changes to the website, its tools or legal requirements. The current text and its update date will be published on this page. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms to the extent permitted by law; if you do not accept them, stop using the service.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that give you the right to bring a claim elsewhere. If a court finds one part unenforceable, the remaining parts continue to apply so far as the law permits.
