Cookie Policy
This policy describes cookies and similar browser storage used by QRCodeBarn, what the categories mean and how you can change your choices.

Cookies and local storage explained
A cookie is a small item of information that a website or service can ask a browser to store and return on later requests. Cookies can support essential site functions, remember preferences, measure use or help deliver advertising. Local storage is a separate browser feature that lets a site save information on the device; unlike a cookie, that value is not automatically sent with each web request.
QRCodeBarn also uses localStorage for its consent choice. The generator itself makes QR codes in the browser and does not save the text, URL, WiFi password or selected logo as a cookie or send those entries to our server. Our Privacy Policy explains other information handled by the site and its service providers.
Consent categories and examples
The consent manager groups storage into the categories below. These are examples, not a promise that every browser will contain every identifier. A provider may change its identifiers over time, and availability can depend on your settings, browser and whether an advertising or analytics service is active.
| Category | Purpose | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Support consent controls, security and core website operation. These are always on in the preference panel. | The selected consent state in localStorage under qrbarn_consent_v1; essential operation may also involve browser or host mechanisms. |
| Analytics | Help us understand visits and how site pages are used, so we can maintain and improve them. | Google Analytics identifiers such as _ga and _ga_<container-id> may be used after analytics consent. |
| Advertising | Support advertising delivery, measurement and, if allowed by your choice, personalisation. | Google advertising or DoubleClick identifiers may include __gads, __gpi and IDE, subject to Google and browser settings. |
| Personalisation | Remember preferences intended to make the browsing experience more relevant. | The consent manager stores a personalisation choice in its consent state; any service-specific storage depends on the enabled feature. |
How the consent controls work
Before a choice is recorded, non-essential analytics, advertising and personalisation consent signals default to denied. This is implemented through Google Consent Mode v2. The banner lets you accept all or reject non-essential storage. Its “Cookie preferences” button opens the controls for essential, analytics, advertising and personalisation categories, where you can save a more specific choice. The label in the banner may say “Cookie preferences”; “Manage choices” describes that same preference function.
Your choice is stored in this browser's localStorage under qrbarn_consent_v1. If you clear local storage, use a different browser or switch devices, the site may ask again. The footer's Cookie Settings link opens the preference controls so that you can change or withdraw a choice later. When you update your selection, the consent signals are updated accordingly. Essential functions remain enabled.
Google analytics and advertising
If you allow analytics, Google Analytics 4 may set or read identifiers to distinguish visits and report activity. Our Google Analytics measurement ID is G-D5QWJQH4FE. If you allow advertising, Google advertising services may use cookies to help deliver and measure ads. Third-party vendors including Google use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and other sites.
You can opt out of personalised advertising using Google Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info. Those external settings do not replace the choices in our banner. More detail about data handling appears in our Privacy Policy, including Google's information page about services used on partner sites.
Change or block storage in your browser
Use Cookie Settings on any page to revisit the choices recorded by QRCodeBarn. You can also use your browser's privacy or site-settings controls to view, block or delete cookies and local website data. Browser controls vary: they may clear the consent record along with other site data, so the banner could appear again. Blocking all storage can affect preferences and some website functions, and deleting a cookie does not necessarily delete separate localStorage values.
For a device shared with other people, remember that browser storage may remain available to later users of the same profile. Consider using the browser's options to clear site data when appropriate. If you want to withdraw consent, using Cookie Settings is the clearest way to update the consent record before closing the page.
Third-party services and changes
Google Analytics and Google's advertising services are operated by Google. JavaScript libraries may be delivered through jsDelivr or CDNJS; a request to either content delivery network can expose ordinary connection details such as an IP address to the provider, but it does not send the QR content entered into the generator. Hosting and security logs may also be held by HostGator. External providers manage their own technologies and may update them, so their privacy and cookie notices provide additional details.
We may update this policy when our consent tools or service providers change. We will change the date at the top when we revise the text.
